As we already know, the best converting and highest quality traffic is always coming from search engines. Why? Because this is the place where people who know what they are looking for will go first. The logical consequence is that webmasters are trying to put their offer (sites) in front of those highly targeted visitors. But when something so valuable, there is always big competition and that rule is the same for every industry in the world. 




Long tail keywords are search terms that consist of 3 or more words. Sometimes, here at SEO Adult, we consider long tail keywords even some consisting of two words, if the competition overlooked it. 






Ranking for common or broad keywords is a particularly challenging task for most small businesses. These words and phrases are often highly competitive and require significant resources to rank for. For example, if you want to rank for the keyword ‘adult videos’, the chance to rank well for it are almost non-existent (especially for a new website).


But what if you target related keywords like ‘4K adult videos’, ‘best ebony adult videos’, ‘most popular adult videos’, ‘genuine amateur adult videos’, etc? There is a much bigger chance that you will manage to be ranked for such keywords. Of course, this is a rough example without any kind of competition research but the message is clear. Going long tail will drastically reduce how hard is to rank and increase the chances of being ranked highly. Long tail keywords are often less popular than broader terms and tend to drive less traffic volume. Since these phrases are more specific, however, they are more likely to convert and prove to be highly beneficial for SEO strategies.

Inexperienced webmasters always react the same when they find out monthly search volume for long tails. Usually, they turn back and say that it is not worth optimizing pages for such keywords. That is simply not true. What is true is that long tails have a small number of searches but that doesn’t mean they are not making conversions (sales). On the contrary, people looking for more details have a better chance to buy something compared to general “unfiltered” terms. 


The serious SEO game is played long-term and with precise goals. One of the most important things is to do a good keyword research and pick suitable keywords and make pages for them. Being ranked for hundreds of low volume keywords takes time and work but once you are there, your site presence will be much more stable and resistant to competition compared to a strategy where you are competing with a huge volume keywords.

If you already have an established authority site with high domain authority (over 50) then it is is not necessary to follow the long tail path because you are already eligible to rank for more competitive keywords. Still, optimizing for multiple long tail keywords will increase site traffic and make it more resourceful for users from the perspective of search engines.
